Insomnia Caused by Vitimin and Mineral Deficiencies

 

Vitamins and minerals constitute an important part of nutrition and our diet. It is found that insomnia caused by vitimin and mineral deficiencies leads to weakness and lack of sleep in the person. Vitamin B is responsible for this disorder. It aims at balancing different activities of the body such as health of nerve cells, transmission of nerve electricity, and muscular contraction along with proper functioning of the brain and digestion process. Vitamin B has calming effects on the brain nerves that result in relaxation of mind. To ensure supply of vitamin B6, one may have two tablespoons of nutritional yeast daily. Two of the most important minerals that support our body functions and sleep are calcium and magnesium. Calcium has a sedative effect on the body when it is taken in sufficient quantity. Its deficiency causes weakness and restlessness in the body. One should have 600 milligrams of liquid calcium everyday. Another mineral that plays an important role in improving the sleep cycle is magnesium. Its deficiency can lead to nervousness, thereby preventing sleep. Wheat bran, almonds, brewer’s yeast, and blackstrap molasses are rich sources of magnesium. Therefore, these must be included in the diet. Calcium and magnesium have healing and calming effects on the brain. However, if a person tends to have supplements then he must take them 45 minutes before going to bed. Insomnia caused by vitimin and mineral deficiencies need to be tackled at the earliest before it acquires serious proportions.
